THE REAL LUIGI GONZAGA

On the 450th anniversary of the birth of Saint Luigi Gonzaga, Pope Francis granted the Aloisian Jubilee Year, which opened on March 9.

They come here replicating the essential traits of the figure of the saint, stripped from those enthusiasms towards his extraordinary human and spiritual gifts, but accurately described and documented also by the recent hagiography.

Not forgetting that he belonged to one of the most important families of his time, his life represents a significant contribution to history in its entirety.

This explains why the twenty-three year old Jesuit is still recognized among the patrons of young people and who is a source of inspiration and model for the whole Church.
